William deGarthe Museum William deGarthe was so taken with the natural beauty of Peggy's Cove he made the community his home. Born in Finland, this world famous painter was one of the premier artists who have created the widely known images of this oceanside village. You can find some of his extraordinary works at the deGarthe Art Gallery and in the St. John's Anglican Church of Peggy's Cove. (Open Seasonally)
St. John's Anglican Church Peggy's Cove St. John's Anglican Church was built by the community in the 1880's under the direction of John Inglis. The church is open for worship every second sunday from Easter until Christmas and all are welcome to attend. World famous artist William deGarthe painted huge murals of the fisherman of the village. Swiss Air Memorial Come see the view of the village and lighthouse of Peggy's Cove from the Swiss Air memorial site. The memorial site was made in honour of the families involved in the terrible plane crash of September 2nd, 1998.
